Imtiaz Ali, one of the leading Hindi Movie director, he does not need any fancy introduction; his body of works of speaks for themselves.

He traces his roots to Jamshedpur, where his family and relatives are based. After completion of his education from D.B.M.S. School, he moved to Delhi for his college education and joined Hindu College. In fact, he started a drama group in Hindu college, after spending few years in Delhi he moved to Mumbai, to pursue his dream of Movie-Direction.

But it was not easy, to break into the world of movies straightway. So he fruitfully used his 7 years time, honing his T.V. Serial / Movie-Direction skills and patiently waiting for an opportunity. His big-break finally came when he decided to cast Abhay Deol as a lead in his debut movie and that brought the Deol family on board as the producer. Since then he has only grown from strength to strength.

In 2005, his debut movie ‘Socha Na Tha’, written and directed by him, was released. The super success of the movie at the box-office heralded the arrival of new hot-shot director, one who had established his credentials in the romantic-comedy genre. The brought him not only the respectability but also the moolah.

Love Aaj Kal’ was the third movie that he wrote and directed. It was released in 2009 and it too did well in the box office.

Now he is ready to release his fourth movie ‘Rockstar’ on 11th of November. And there is huge buzz around the movie.
